Hayden proposes new clothing store idea in Fairfield!

Hayden proposes an idea for a Nordstrom Rack in Fairfield, California! He has proposed it to be located at 1590 Gateway Blvd., in the former Linens N Things, at the Gateway Courtyard Shopping Center. The proposal would need the inside renovated for Nordstrom Rack, and relocate the doors from the right to the center. Hayden is proposing this idea because there is a lot of traffic from the Bay Area on Interstate 80, it would be near the Solano Town Center which has a lot of shoppers, and he believes there is enough demand to justify a Nordstrom Rack in Fairfield.
Population Statistics within 20 miles of Fairfield for Nordstrom Rack:
Fairfield: 109,320 people
Vacaville: 94,275 people
Vallejo: 118,837 people
Napa: 79,068  people
American Canyon: 20,208 people
Benicia:27,618 people
Total: 449,326 people within 20 miles of Fairfield
Nordstrom Rack has 2 locations in the Sacramento region at Howe Bout Arden in Sacramento and Creekside Town Center in Roseville. They also have their Nordstrom full line stores at Arden Fair and Westfield Galleria at Roseville. If this idea happens, it would create jobs for the town and more competition for Fairfield. Thank you for looking at my proposal!
                                                          About Nordstrom Rack:
Nordstrom Rack is a fashion retailer based in the United States which is owned by Nordstrom. It was founded in 1973 in Seattle by John Nordstrom and is still headquartered in Seattle and currently has over 113 stores and growing. Nordstrom Rack offers branded clothing and accessories for women, men, and kids at a large discount to consumers across the United States. Since 2013 Nordstrom Rack has generated over 2.5 billion dollars in sales. Nordstrom's success comes from their good customer service, good products, deep discounts, and ability to successfully integrate online shopping with in-store shopping.

Behind the Scenes at In N Out Burger in Placerville

The article for today is "Behind the Scenes" at In-N- Out Burger in Placerville, California. It is about our field trip to In-N-Out Burger last week. It was a homeschool field trip with a group of students in the Placerville region. We met with Tyler, the manager of the Placerville In-N-Out Burger and he told me about the history of In-N-Out Burger. He showed us the back of In-N-Out where all their food is stored and prepared. I got to "dice the sink," which means putting the potato through the potato press. We got to order our own food for free. The Placerville In-N- Out gets a lot of business from tourists and last summer was one of their busiest times in the history of the location.  The field trip was very fun, educational, and yummy!!

                                                           About In-N- Out Burger:

In-N-Out Burger is a regional chain of fast food restaurants with locations primarily across the American Southwest. Founded in Baldwin Park, California in 1948 by Harry Snyder and his wife Esther Snyder, the chain is currently headquartered in Irvine, California. In-N-Out Burger has slowly expanded outside Southern California into the rest of California, as well as into Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, and recently Oregon. The current owner is Lynsi Snyder, the only grandchild of the Snyder's.

Today's Post: Ube Over Taxi

Uber has made it in the news today. It is an American international transportation company that was founded in 2009 by Garrett Camp and Travis Kalanick as Uber Cab.  It is currently headquartered in San Francisco. The company develops, markets and operates the Uber mobile app, which allows customers with smart phones to submit a trip request which is then routed to Uber drivers who use their own cars. Uber is worth $50 billion dollars. It is currently available in 58 countries and 300 cities worldwide. I believe Uber has been very successful in many big cities including Sacramento and its success has disrupted the taxi industry. Uber's success is due to competitive rates and convenience.  Thank you for reading my blogpost!
