A Makeover for Sawmill from the Gold Rush!

The Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California has recently received a makeover! It is at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park located at 310 Back Street 46.2 miles from Sacramento, 8.9 miles from Placerville, and 17.8 miles from Auburn. Sutter's Mill was built in 1848 by John Sutter during the Gold Rush. The new spot for Sutter's Mill is closer to where the original was at. I got to visit the new Sawmill with our friends and drew Sutter's Mill. Coloma attracts visitors from all around the United States and the World. Marshall Gold Discovery Park also has the  Marshall Monument, a museum, blacksmith shop, 2 churches, a jail, cabins, and teepees. I think the new Sutter's Mill is beautiful! Folsom travelers will have another place to stay at starting in Summer 2015. I have seen the project on the road every time we visit Folsom. I am pleased and excited about Staybridge Suites opening in Folsom.

One Love Refill Station in Placerville is a great place to get a refill! It is in the old location of Taekwondo located at 617 Main Street Unit A. near the Independent Restaurant. One Love Refill Station refills empty soap containers with high quality bulk soaps. It also offers their customers:

·         Health and Beauty Lotions

·         Massage Oils

·         Essential Oils

Hayden's proposes renovation of former Taco House in Placerville!

This is my proposal for a renovation of former Pepe's Taco House in Placerville, CA! The site is located at 2687 State Route 49 1.1 miles (4 minutes) from Downtown Placerville and 1.8 miles (5 minutes) from Gold Bug Park. The name I chose for the restaurant would be called 49er Cafe and Meeting Hall. I propose it being a gluten free restaurant with allergy free take out dinners on the lower level and a meeting hall for groups and home school families on the upper level. The renovation would include remodeling the exterior and interior to make it modern. I chose this idea because it needs to be filled up to help the community.
