The El Dorado County Sheriff's
Department has finally broken ground to start working on their new facility.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 30th 2018 at 11:00am on the
land at 200 Industrial Drive in Diamond Springs. It was a meaningful small-town
community event with big names in attendance including State Senator Ted
Gaines, County Supervisors Mike Ranalli and Brian Veerkamp, Sheriff John D.
Agostini, and representatives from the offices of Congressman Tom McClintock
and Assemblyman Frank Bigelow. They talked about the need for this new facility
and what it would do for the department. At the ceremony, I also saw some of my
friends who volunteer with the Sheriff Explorers. I saw an old friend who has
become a new chaplain, and I also met Sheriff D'Agostini's parents. It was a
monumental event for this community that was optimistic and enthusiastic about
the new facility for our community's sheriff department. I was glad that I was
able to attend the groundbreaking for this new facility. I hope that they can
work on this new project soon because it would be a huge help for the community and our sheriff department, LORD willing.
The
chaplain at the ceremony prayed that God would bless the project and He quoted
from Psalms 127:1 in his prayer: Unless
the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain, unless the LORD
watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
