Lobbying to bring Hobby Lobby to Placerville

This blogpost is about my idea for a Hobby Lobby store for the town of Placerville, CA. I am proposing it to be in the Kmart building to replace Kmart at 3968 Missouri Flat Road.

To give you a glimpse of what Hobby Lobby is like, this is what they normally offer their customers:

·         Home Decor and Frames

·         Scrapbooks and Paper Crafts

·         Crafts and Hobbies

·         Fabric and Sewing

I think Hobby Lobby would be a great fit for Placerville because I believe there is a need for an arts and crafts store in Placerville.  I really like Hobby Lobby because of their wide selection of home decor and their different things they have.

The Kmart space is 86,414 SF.  Hobby Lobby prefers to have 55,000 SF stores, which would leave 31,414 SF of the space available for another retailer or Hobby Lobby could open a Mardel Christian Store in that remaining space.

The Placerville trade area:

5-mile radius from center: 34,134 people

10-mile radius from center: 85,332 people

15 mile radius from center: 127,869 people

Hobby Lobby prefers to have stores in areas where there are 50,000 people close by to shop at Hobby Lobby.

Average Traffic on Highway 50: 52,000 cars per day

Average Traffic on Missouri Flat Road: 31,499 cars per day

The average income for area is: $82,610

If you want to shop at Hobby Lobby, or if you have already shopped at Hobby Lobby this Christmas season, and want to shop there again, I would encourage you to shop at the Roseville store on Douglas Boulevard, the closest one to Placerville. It is a fun store to shop at and I would encourage you to shop there or at any Hobby Lobby location you visit.  For more information about Hobby Lobby, they have a website: www.hobbylobby.com

New taco shop in Cameron Park

If you are in Cameron Park and you are wanting to eat tacos in town, there are the fast food restaurants Taco Bell and Jimboy's Tacos, and then there are also the traditional sit down Mexican restaurants Fernando's Costa Del Sol in the north part of town, Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant and Que Viva Mexican Restaurant near Hwy 50.  If none of those options sound good to you, then I have some good news, there is new taco shop in the Safeway shopping center south of Hwy 50 called Flako's Tacos in the space where the Cheesesteak shop used to be. It is located at 3326 Coach Lane near McDonald's and in the building with the Health Food store. Flako's Tacos opened on November 19th 2018.

Flako's Tacos serves:

·         Tacos

·         Quesadillas

·         Burritos

·         Nachos

·         Salad Bowls

·         Fish Tacos

I ate at Flako's Tacos on December 1st for lunch with my family and I after we went to the Burke's Junction Craft Fair. We ordered the street tacos for $1.99 each. I ate 3 street tacos-one chicken, and 2 beef, all of which were really tasty.  I hope to visit Flako's Tacos again and eat their tacos soon.

Flako's  Tacos has 4 locations including the new Cameron Park location, one in Elk Grove, one in Lodi, one in Sacramento, and they are opening one in Stockton soon.  They have a website for more information about the restaurant: https://www.flakostakos.com/.

Do you want to discover the animals in the ocean, but don't want to drive to the ocean? This may be what you are looking for!!

The SeaQuest Aquarium in the Palladio shopping center in Folsom has just opened its doors!!  It is located in the former Sports Authority space a short walk down from Red Robin and Nordstrom Rack at 430 Palladio Pkwy. At SeaQuest, you can experience:
·         Stingray Encounters where you can snorkel through a 40,000 gallon tank with many species of sharks, stingrays, and tropical fish. 6 people can tour the stingrays at the same time.
·         Animal Shows
·         Animal Whisperer Tours
I was given a personal tour of SeaQuest on November 29th,2018.  Our tour guide was Cassie, and on the tour we saw stingrays, eels, Pacu fish (relatives of the Piranha), birds, Monitor lizards, bearded dragons, White Sturgeon, turtles, goats, mini Potbelly pigs, and rabbits.  I petted the turtle, goats, rabbits, and the stingrays. I had fun playing with the stingrays.  They seemed to have a personality of their own.
One thing I learned about the aquarium on my visit is that most of the animals at the aquarium were rescued.
It was a very splendid experience seeing this amazing aquarium in the City of Folsom.  I hope that you also have a really good experience visiting SeaQuest.
The prices at SeaQuest are:
Free for Children Under 2
$9.95 for Children 2-11
$14.95 for Ages 12+
$12.95 for Seniors 55+, Students, and Military
Free for Annual Passport Holders
The Aquarium's hours are:
Mon-Sat: 10am-9pm
Sun: 11am-6pm
SeaQuest officially opened on Tuesday, November 20th 2018. SeaQuest has 9 locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Texas, and Utah and they are planning to have 20 locations by 2020.
And God said, "Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens." So God created the great sea creature and every living creatures that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:20-21
