I found this interesting news article, not from the Sacramento Business Journal, but from the Chain Store Age: https://chainstoreage.com/centennial-takes-over-management-sacramentos-biggest-mall. https://chainstoreage.com/centennial-takes-over-management-sacramentos-biggest-mall.
This is a very interesting development since the owner of the mall, Fulcrum Properties has been working on a redevelopment project on the mall, mainly on the former Nordstrom and Sears boxes at the mall. (I hope I didn't break the news about these two stores having closed at this mall. Especially if you haven't been to the mall in a while). And that the mall is adding an H&M and a Uniqlo store at the mall. The previous management company was Macerich and the new company is Centennial.
Hopefully this development accelerates that progress. It sounds like it will since Centennial Properties has been having a track record of accelerating redevelopment projects at the malls they own and have a plan to improve them.
Here are the malls that are still owned by the major mall owners for reference of how the malls are doing most likely (hint, malls that are owned by Simon, Brookfield, Westfield are most likely malls that are thriving and malls owned by Kohan, Namdar, and Moonbeam are most likely dead or dying malls) : https://haydenbusinessblog.blogspot.com/2024/02/what-malls-are-still-owned-by-major.html.
I hope you enjoyed reading this article and please check out the links to the articles in the post. And I look forward to what the new management company of Arden Fair Mall has in store for it. Thank you and God bless!!
