A Fun little find on the map in South Lake Tahoe

When my parents and I went to South Lake Tahoe at the beginning of October, we went to the Heavenly Village next to where we were staying. While we were there, we found a cute shop that actually makes topographical  maps of the bottom of the lakes and oceans in the United States and in California.

Where is Heavenly Village and where is this shop, you may ask? It is located at the Heavenly Ski Resort area where the Marriott Timber Lodge is at and the area with all the shops and the movie theater. The store is located at 1001 Heavenly Village #36B.

What is this amazing shop called? It is called On Tahoe Time.

At this shop they offer their customers wood maps of over 5,000 bodies of water such as 3D Wood Charts for lakes, coastlines, islands, and cities. They also offer their customers vintage signs of vintage ski signs, Lake and Lodge signs, Animals and Wildlife signs, and Beach and Coastal signs, and different gifts such as Wood Clocks and Wood Journals.

My favorite thing about this shop is seeing all the maps of the bottoms of the lakes in California. I especially liked seeing the map of Lake Tahoe with its depth. When I saw the map of the San Francisco Bay, I was surprised to see how shallow it is. I saw that the deepest spot on the bay is only 360 feet deep at the Golden Gate Bridge and much of the bay is only 43 feet deep and some of it by San Jose is only 15 feet deep.

It was a fun time visiting this shop and I loved  browsing through all the maps of the lakes.

On Tahoe Time has a website where you can learn more about their shop: ontahoetime.com
