Reflecting back from a Beautiful Drive down the Oregon Coast

We just came back home from a beautiful drive down the Oregon coast. Today, I will be reflecting on a few highlights and businesses that we went to on the trip.
In Lincoln City, we went to the Treasures of the Sea store, which sells Seashells, Gifts, Lighthouses, Myrtlewood, Collectibles, and Bibles. I enjoyed visiting this store and seeing their seashells, and their collections from the beach which I thought were a really nice find at a little store on the coast. Plus, I really admire that they sell bibles and Christian materials in this store. They are located at 565 NW Hwy 101 in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Also in Lincoln City, we ate lunch at a Thai restaurant, visited a fun Toy and Kite store, and an art gallery co-op.

Most of the week, we stayed at the Schooner Landing Resort north of Newport where I enjoyed walking to the ocean and seeing the beach and the tide pools. One of my favorite things at the beach was an amazing view of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, which we were given a tour of on Veterans Day. We walked all the way to the top of the lighthouse and saw an amazing ocean view with tall cliffs and powerful waves.

The night before we went to the lighthouse, God gave us an amazing sunset to look at from our resort which was even more spectacular with the lighthouse view. It was a mix of purple, blue, and pink, which made a magnificent mix to have a picturesque sunset.

At the tide pools, we saw sea urchins, sea anemones, and most of all, starfish. I enjoyed being near the beach at low tide seeing all these pools having creeks that flowed to the ocean. I was able to see deposition of the sand in real life from these small creeks from the tide pools.

On the trip, we visited the town of Newport, where we walked around the little downtown district by the Yaquina Bay. In the district, we ate lunch at the Clearwater Restaurant, where I ate fish tacos and had the privilege to see Sea Lions on the wood platform on the water from the restaurant windows. We then walked over to the area where the Sea Lions were at and admired looking at them.

We also visited the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, which was only in service for three years before the Yaquina Head Lighthouse was built, near the famous Yaquina Bay Bridge which we admired looking at.

On our drive from Newport, Oregon, we stopped at a place at the ocean called Cooks Chasm. In my opinion, it was one of the most gorgeous places by the ocean that I have ever seen. The waterfalls forming from high tide and the waves are amazing just to see from the cliff. When the waves roll over the falls, the water looks like it steams up from the falls. I believe God made this place for us to admire his beauty and his glory.

We also stopped at the Umpqua River Lighthouse near Reedsport and went to Coos Bay at the Cascade Farm and Outdoor store.

We stayed one of the nights in the town of Bandon, south of Coos Bay, where we ate dinner at a tasty seafood restaurant called the Wheelhouse at125 Chicago Street in the Old Town Mall by the Sea. I ate yummy cranberry chicken, potatoes, and vegetables that were served by a friendly waitress who kindly talked with us.

The next day, we drove from Bandon and saw the outside of the Cape Blanco Lighthouse, where there were strong winds.  In fact, the winds were howling so hard that it blew the lids for our coffee cups out of the car to near the cliffs of Cape Blanco where we found them. Then we ate lunch at the small market called the Golden Harvest Herban Farm in Port Orford, Oregon. It is a very nice gem that we visited, with gluten free options for many different types of food. We ate Gluten Free Chili and Salad, which were both really tasty and they have delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream and Lemon Sorbet. We drove at a parking spot facing the ocean and enjoyed their delicious ice cream after lunch.
The Golden Harvest Herban Farm is located at 620 9th Street in Port Orford, Oregon in the big red house.

That night, we stayed at a hotel called the Beachfront Inn, which has tremendous views of the ocean, where we could see the ocean waves roar from our room. We walked on the beach by our room where we could see the waves of the ocean come crashing near where we walked.

We had a very fun adventure seeing many amazing places that God created on the Oregon Coast. I hope that you enjoyed reading about the adventure and that it would inspire you to take your own amazing adventure!!

Thank You for reading my blogpost and God bless!!

And God said, "Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens." So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the sea, and let the birds multiply on the earth." Genesis 1:20-22
