Birmingham International Airport has been undergoing a major redevelopment from 2011-2014. The project includes a rebuilt Concourse A and B and a renovated Concourse C. It has 11 stores and restaurants at the airport. I got to visit the Birmingham Airport and meet new friends that work with Southwest Airlines that I talked to about the redevelopment and they gave me Southwest Airlines shirts. I liked the redevelopment they are working on; it has a dinosaur skeleton face promoting the McWane Science Center. It is very spacious and you can see the planes from the food court seating! Birmingham residents now have a nice airport in their town. I am pleased and excited about the airport redevelopment! It opened on May 31st 1931 and continues to be the largest airport in Alabama with 2,579,000 passengers in 2013-2014. It has a website: http://www.flybirmingham.com/ and a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FlyBHMAirport for more information.
