The Florida Mall in Orlando is working on major redevelopment projects!








The Florida Mall in Orlando, Florida is working on major redevelopment projects! It is located at 8001 S Orange Blossom Trail. Florida Mall has many new projects in progress such as:
American Girl: It is located at the northwest end of the lifestyle center part of the mall. It was founded in Chicago and has locations in Texas, Georgia, Illinois, California, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Colorado, Kansas, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, Missouri, and is planning international locations in Mexico. It opened at the Florida Mall on November 15th 2014. The size of the store is 15,000 square feet.
Zara: It is planning to relocate from the southeast end to a bigger space between H&M and American Girl at the lifestyle center part of the mall. It was founded in 1974 by Amancio Ortega and Rosalia Mera. It is headquartered in Arteixo, Spain. It has 2,000+ stores in the United States and the World. The size of the existing location is 10,251 square feet and the new location will be 29,214 square feet.
New Food Court and Expansion: Simon Property Group the owner is planning a new court and an expansion with it. It is planned at the old Saks Fifth Avenue located at the northeast end of the mall. It is planning to have retail, restaurants, and lots of food court restaurants. It is planning to open in 2015. The existing food court is planning to get redevelopment and more details will be announced soon.
Crayola Experience:  It is planning to open in the former Nordstrom located at the southeast end of the mall. It is planning to open in the summer of 2015. Crayola Experience also has a location in Easton, Pennsylvania. This attraction is planning to have 25 hands-on activities, a signature Crayola Store and a cafĂ© offering a family centric snack experience. It is planning to create 200 jobs and 400,000 visitors for the town. The size of the store is planning to be 70,000 square feet.
The Florida Mall opened in 1986. It is anchored by Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenney, and Sears. I got to visit the Florida Mall with my Dad and I got to take a lot of pictures of the construction projects. Orlando residents will have lots of new businesses to visit. I am pleased and excited about the redevelopment projects the Florida Mall is working on.
